Caption: This shot with streamlining panel removed clearly shows the unique roller chain steering system just in front and below of the operator’s feet. It also clearly illustrates the three-lever control system for the bowl. Reeving this beast with cable must have been a nightmare ⁣

⁣
Caption: A survivor, this non-4WD M.R.S. tractor unit is a very early model I-90 and dates from around 1945. It would have been originally supplied to the U.S. Army Engineer Corps and appears to be powered by an International-Harvester four-cylinder diesel engine. The rollover bar is a much later addition.⁣

Caption: The largest tractor unit ever manufactured by M.R.S. was designed to tow the largest available hydraulic or cable-operated scrapers of the day. Known as the model I-250, it was available with a choice of three engine and transmission combinations. This machine is fitted with a Cummins VT-12-650-CI twin turbo diesel which was rated at 650 flywheel horsepower and connected to a Spicer manual transmission!⁣
