⁣
Caption: Scanned from a 1966 brochure, this is a very good side view of a model 175B, which shows a lot of detail, especially the track frame where the two crosswise mounting beams can be clearly seen. ⁣
The indicator rod atop the left-hand tilt cylinder, gives the operator a visual indicator of the angle of the bucket, indispensable when the machine was fitted with a Drott four-in-one.⁣
Note also that the Drott logo has now been removed from the loader arm castings. ⁣

Caption: In 1966, International introduced an improved version of the 175, the model 175B.⁣
In this factory photo, a brand new 175B sits on the IH loading dock in Chicago, awaiting rail freight to its new owner. ⁣
It is fitted with a full lighting package, two cubic yard general purpose bucket and one of the new operator’s seats with sun reflective upholstery, an International-Harvester exclusive.⁣

Caption: For sale, any takers?⁣
This rather tired looking old girl is up for sale on the web.⁣
It is an early production 175 and still has the Drott logo cast into the loader frame (later versions had this removed).⁣
The track gear has also seen better days, but the four-in-one bucket still looks quite sound. ⁣

Caption: The author’s “Retro Contractors” Caterpillar DW10 with Cat W10 bottom dump trailer option, model manufactured by EMD in 1:50 scale. This is a beautifully detailed little replica, and it's pretty hard to find these days, as EMD has discontinued the model. Well worth tracking down if you can find one. ⁣

This machine is fitted with a Drott four-in-one multi-purpose bucket and a five-shank radial arc ripper, also of Drott manufacture. ⁣

Caption: Unfortunately, not of the best quality (due to the rarity of the real thing), this image shows a 1V series Caterpillar DW10 towing an Athey PD10Q quarry side dump trailer. The PD10Q could carry 10 cubic yards of blasted rock and was typically loaded into the trailer by a face shovel. Not a great many were constructed⁣
