Along with the rather rudimentary sun canopy, the tractor is equipped with a LeTourneau CK-8 angledozer and Model AN8 single drum front cable control. The machine had not been in use for long when this picture was taken. ⁣

Caption: Caterpillar D8-8R, which at first glance looks fairly standard, but is equipped with a LaPlant-Choate blade frame assembly. LeTourneau and LaPlant-Choate were both fierce rivals in the attachment business. Cable control on the rear of the tractor however is a LeTourneau Model N.⁣

Caption: Beautifully restored pre-1937 Caterpillar RD8-1H at a machinery show in the USA. It still retains the older large fuel pump and externally flanged carrier rollers, but it’s fabricated front idlers have been replaced with spoked cast units at some point. ⁣

Caption: A very rare piece of LeTourneau literature in my collection depicts the model D Tournapull with the optional EC-7 Tournacrane, which had a lifting capacity of seven tons. Progressive modifications to the EC-7 resulted in the model D Tournacrane which had a slightly higher 10-ton lift capacity⁣
