CCNZ Wellington office sold

CCNZ Wellington office sold

At a Special General Meeting of CCNZ, held in November last year the Executive Council decided to sell the CCNZ national office premises, Margan House, if appropriate, rather than face the repair cost of the old Art Deco house donated to the association by ex-president Baldy Margan.

Association chief Alan Pollard says that after an extensive marketing campaign with agents, CBRE, his executive council accepted an unconditional offer for the property. Settlement is May 2023 (or earlier by agreement).
“As I understand it, the purchaser intends restoring the property, which I think is a good outcome for such a character property. Margan House has been a valued home for CCNZ, and we will continue to acknowledge its important place in the history of our organisation.
“The Special General Meeting also resolved the strong preference of members present was that the proceeds of the sale should, as necessary, be used to purchase suitable alternative premises, should the sale of Margan House occur.

“The CCNZ team will likely move into temporary premises while options for a more permanent home are considered,” says Pollard
