Wirtgen Group is strengthening its ties in the region and has opened a service and distribution centre at South Guildford, Perth, and at an official opening ceremony held recently customers and guests were treated to displays of machinery from Wirtgen’s brand range. In addition to Wirtgen, Vögele, Hamm and Kleeman, the group has recently incorporated Benninghoven, a supplier of asphalt mixing and recycling plant equipment, into it’s stable.
“Wirtgen’s ability to bring machine technology to customers in this way is quite unique,” says Wirtgen New Zealand general manager Richard Seay.
“For customers to be able to see firsthand in one setting the capabilities of the latest compaction technology from Hamm, the accuracy and ability of the Vögele paver range, or Kleemann’s comprehensive crusher options is a rewarding opportunity.”
The South Guildford facility incorporates 47,000m² of land, of which 12,000m² is under cover. It features a facility for rebuild, overhaul and repair work, cleaning and painting facilities and a parts warehouse providing 365 day service.
The new facility also incorporates Wirtgen’s Australasian Centre for Training and Technology (CTT), which will specialise in product training for customers, machine operator training, application training and internal service technician training.
“Our service personnel are partners and conduits for Wirtgen customers and offer technical know-how and commitment to ensure the best out of any piece of machinery, wherever it might be located,” said Richard Seay.
The opening of the South Guildford facility heralds a year of branch expansion for Wirtgen Australia and New Zealand, with satellite sales and service centres also scheduled to open in both Melbourne and Auckland later in the year.
