Caption: During 1971, a new version of the Wabco 222 was introduced, the model 222G. This differed somewhat from the former 222F, and this South Island based example shows off the now standard ROPS structure mounted over a factory supplied cab and the redesigned cantilever rear axle. This particular 222G is set up for laser grade control operation, a task in which elevating scrapers excel.

Caption: Auckland based Duck Brothers had a Wabco 222F, seen here at an unspecified location during 1978. A factory sun canopy is fitted. Also, in the ‘family portrait’ is a 235hp Caterpillar D8H with Onions 12/16 cable scraper and a LeTourneau model LP scraper (top left) undergoing a front axle repair.
