‘Towards world leading road operation, construction and maintenance’ is the focus of the upcoming 2016 NZTA/NZIHT Conference.
This annual conference is being held from Sunday October 30 – Tuesday November 1 at the Dunedin Centre.
The organisers say: “We are delivering one of the largest land transport infrastructure programmes of recent times and it is essential that we use the most efficient and effective tools and techniques to deliver this.
“At the same time, the country-wide roll out of our new Network Outcome Contracts (NOCs) for operating and maintaining the highway network is nearing completion.
“Both these tasks demand a new way of working, but at the same time offer great opportunities for innovation and experimentation. At this conference, we want to explore these opportunities across the spectrum.”
Topics being covered include: ‘What have we learnt from the NOC roll-out?’; ‘How do we make best use of the supplier market to deliver the increasing infrastructure programme’; and ‘Is the One Network Road Classification/customer levels of service philosophy for operating the network making progress?’.
Other topics being discussed include: ‘What changes has Zero Harm generated, and what are the challenges ahead?’; ‘Implementing maintenance management plans’; and ‘What are the smart innovations that are making a difference, and how do we successfully propagate them?’.
So put a placeholder in your calendars now.
